Simulation of a Flexible GNP/PDMS based pressure sensor

Used COMSOL to simulate the flexible pressure sensor. We considered a circle-shaped pressure sensor comprising a PDMS substrate and a GNP coating. We added silver electrodes atop the GNP coating and connected it to the data acquisition circuit in the lab. The goal of this project is to simulate the device using COMSOL.

Using COMSOL, we defined the geometry, assigned materials, physics and multiphysics, and ran FEM-based calculations. However, some of the material parameters were missing. For example, GNP was not available in the materials library of COMSOL. Hence, we had to estimate the parameters and key them in.

My tenure on this project ended in July of 2023. Future work included estimating the Piezoresistive coupling coefficients better.
